Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Mirrorborn Online ("the game", "we", "us"), named on the game's Google Play page. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the game.

1. Who may play

• You must be 13 years old or older. The game asks you to confirm this the first time you start it.
• If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to online services alone (up to 16 in some countries), you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they should read these terms with you.
• You accept these terms when you tick the box and tap Continue on the first-start notice, or by playing. If you do not accept, you cannot play online.

2. The closed test

• The game is in an early closed test. It may contain bugs, lose progress, be unavailable at times, or change at any moment.
• We may reset or delete characters, items, cards, teams or seasons during the test, change numbers and rules, and end the test or the game with reasonable notice where we can give it.
• Please report problems to alaa.albayed2016@gmail.com. Feedback is welcome and we may use it freely.

3. Your account

• You can play as a guest (a random play id kept on your phone) or sign in with Google. A guest account is tied to the data stored on your phone: if you uninstall the game or clear its data, you may lose access to it.
• One account is for one person. Do not share it, sell it, trade it or let someone else play it for you. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• You may delete your account at any time (how).

4. Conduct: what is not allowed

Be kind. The game is for everyone from 13 up. Objectionable content and behaviour means anything below, in chat, in names (character, team) or in any other way:

• hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar;
• harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, or targeting a player who has asked you to stop;
• sexual or pornographic content or advances, and anything that sexualises minors (which we report to the authorities);
• graphic violence in words or images beyond the fantasy action of the game, glorifying self-harm, suicide, terrorism or extremism;
• illegal activity, scams, phishing, or offering or asking for illegal goods;
• sharing your or anyone's private information (real name, address, phone number, passwords, photos of other people);
• impersonating another person, a moderator or us;
• spam, advertising, links to other services, and begging for real-world money or items;
• offensive, hateful or misleading names for characters or teams.

5. Chat, names and other content you create

• Town chat, character names and team names can be seen by other players. A word filter hides some offensive words, but it is not perfect. You are responsible for what you write.
• You keep ownership of what you write. You give us a free, worldwide permission to store, show and filter it in the game, and to keep it when needed to handle a report.
• Report and block. You can report a player or a chat line and block a player from inside the game. Reports go to us. We review them and may remove content, rename a character, mute, suspend or end an account. We cannot promise to act on every report, but we take them seriously.
• Do not use the report tool to harass others. False or abusive reports can lead to action against your account.

6. Fair play

You must not:

• use cheats, hacks, bots, macros, modified or unofficial versions of the game, or tools that give an unfair advantage;
• exploit bugs or errors for gain. If you find one, tell us instead;
• attack, overload, probe or try to break our servers, other players' devices, or the game's security;
• copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the game, except where the law allows it;
• make extra accounts to avoid a suspension or a rule, or to take advantage of the game's systems;
• buy, sell or trade accounts, items, gold or cards for real money or outside the game.

7. Fighting between players

Duels, the optional Killer mark and fighting outside the safe zones are features of the game, all within a fantasy world: they are allowed when played by the game's rules. Safe zones, duel offers and the Killer mark exist so that fighting is by choice or has a clear reason. Attacking is not an excuse for abuse: following, cornering or targeting a person who has said they do not want to play that way, or using the fight as harassment, breaks section 4.

8. Game items have no real-world value

• Gold, items, Echo Cards, Gifts and everything else in the game are virtual, for play only. They are not property, have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for money, and can be changed, reset or removed.
• The game has no purchases. Echo Cards, Mirror Chests and other rewards drop at random from play (with a "pity" counter that guarantees progress); you cannot pay or wager anything to get them.
• The Mirror Exchange and trades use in-game gold and items only.

9. Optional photo and voice features

The avatar photo and voice casting are optional, ask for permission first, and are described in the Privacy Policy. Only photograph yourself; do not use another person's photo without their permission.

10. Our content

The game, including its code, art, models, music, sounds, text and design, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to install and play the game on your own devices for your own entertainment. Everything else is reserved. The game's characters, places and story are original.

11. Suspension and ending

• You may stop playing and delete your account at any time.
• We may warn, mute, suspend or end an account, remove content, or block access, if you break these terms, harm other players, or put the game or its security at risk. We will usually tell you why, unless the law or safety says otherwise.

12. No guarantees

The game is provided "as is" and "as available", especially while it is a test. We do not promise that it will be free of errors, always online, or that progress will never be lost. The game needs an internet connection for its online features.

13. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost progress or virtual items, or for interruptions of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud), or takes away your rights as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.

14. Changes

We may update these terms, for example when the game changes. We change the date above, and for important changes the game will ask you to accept the new version. If you keep playing after that, you accept it. If you do not agree, stop playing and delete your account.
